1. Film quality
Companies offering ceilings at low prices, is mainly used PVC film of Chinese production (grades Hailide, Longwei, MSD, Yuli et al.), Which is not always stable in its basic parameters (color , thickness, elasticity and strength) and can emit toxic fumes of phenol and toluene for quite a long time.
First of all, you need to make sure that the brought material does not have a pronounced chemical odor and color changes, for example, yellowish edges. At the same time, a slight bluish tint of the white film is considered the norm.
It is very important that the pattern does not have significant deviations from the dimensional recommendations: its length and width should be about 7% less than the length and width of the room. Of course, by heating the film can be stretched very strongly (plus 20-30% to the original size), but at the same time, its thickness will most likely change locally and, as a result, its reflectivity. If the pattern turns out to be larger than necessary, it will not be possible to mount it without visible sagging.
2. Installation of lamps, bypassing heating pipes
Pay attention to the area of the location of chandeliers, spotlights , ventilation grilles. Irregularities often occur here. If you notice them, demand that the defect be fixed immediately. In the places of the holes, the masters should stick the thermal rings on the film.
They are needed not so much for thermal insulation (modern LED devices practically do not heat up), but for reinforcing the material – without such rings, the hole can grow over time. The cuts at the place of passage of heating pipes must be completely covered with decorative plastic contours.

3. Sagging
The permissible sagging for both PVC film and polyester fabric is 5 mm per 1 m of the room width. Greater sagging is unacceptable, since over time it increases and a noticeable drop in the level towards the center of the room, as well as waves on the ceiling during ventilation, may appear. An ordinary laser pointer will help to make sure that the installation rules are followed – it is enough to direct the beam parallel to the plane of the ceiling.
4. Installation of cornices
Sometimes it is necessary to cover a standard visible molding with a decorative cornice strip, which must be glued very carefully and only to the walls – so that the polyurethane glue does not get on the pattern material, which is not resistant enough to organic solvents. And, of course, it is unacceptable that folds, finger marks or scratches from a spatula used to tuck the cloth into the baguette remain on the ceiling after installation.
