The progressive method of producing holes by stamping – punching is much cheaper at cost than drilling the same holes in some cases almost three times.
It is possible to perforate metal sheets starting from a thickness of 0.4 mm. Maximum stamping thickness: structural steel up to 12 mm, stainless steel up to 8 mm. In the main warehouse of the enterprise there are always perforated sheets with standard sizes of 1000×2000 mm, and some positions of the dimensions 1250×2500 mm, 1500×3000 mm.
Mode of production
Holes are knocked out on a steel sheet of standard or specially cut format using a press. The most common format is 1000×2000 mm, the maximum size is 1500×3000 mm, depending on the tool used. For large orders, it is possible for some types of perforations to make the product from rolls with a width of 1000.1250 and 1500 mm. Depending on the type of perforation, the holes are knocked out by a single-functional punch, and for sheets of larger thickness or for special perforations, paired with a punch or over the entire width of the sheet. There are several types of high-pressure presses with which it is possible to perforate for structural steels up to a sheet thickness of 12 mm, and for stainless steel up to a thickness of 8 mm. With sheet thicknesses greater than 12 mm, holes are usually burned out or drilled.

Types of perforated sheet by production material

It is the type of metal that directly determines the recommended scope of use of perforated sheet. Actual options:
Galvanized metal. The products are made of steel of different grades: a layer of zinc is applied to the finished plate. Galvanizing sheets is necessary to increase the resistance of the metal to corrosion.
Steel sheet. It will be of particular interest to designers, as differs in durability, flexibility and elasticity. Another plus is fire safety. Due to the ability of steel plates to suppress electromagnetic radiation, electrically resistant and at the same time decorative fences are often made from them. However, the scope of use is different: conveyor belts, sieves and sieves, screens, filters, anti-slip floors, etc. are produced. Perforated aluminum sheet. Aluminum is resistant to negative external influences and corrosion, ductility and light weight. Corrosion-proof perforated sheet. Production material – rolling stainless steel. The surface will resemble the surface of a matte mirror. Stainless steel does not need a corrosion-resistant coating, it does not corrode and is not afraid of even significant temperature changes. To increase resistance to adverse air, titanium can be added to the stainless steel.
